Pulses

Pulses are dried seeds of plants that belong to the legume family. They are a rich source of proteins, amino acids, carbohydrates and several vitamins and minerals essential for the human body. They have a high fibre content and they contain no cholesterol and very little fat. They form a significant part of the staple diets all over the world. Research indicates that the consumption of pulses can reduce the risk of heart disease.

Cereal & Grains

Grains are small, hard, dry seeds (with or without attached hulls or fruit layers) harvested for human or animal food. Agronomists also call the plants producing such seeds ‘grain crops’. Main types of commercial grain crops are cereals such as wheat and rye, and legumes such as beans and soybeans.

Harvested, dry grains have advantages over other staple foods such as the starchy fruits (e.g., plantains, breadfruit) and roots/tubers (e.g., sweet potatoes, cassava, yams) in the ease of storage, handling, and transport. In particular, these qualities have allowed mechanical harvest, transport by rail or ship, long-term storage in grain silos, large-scale milling or pressing, and industrial agriculture, in general.

Spices

Spices are indispensable in all major cuisines around the world. The trade of spices can be dated back to 2000BC. Spices are extensively used in the food industry for flavouring, colouring and food preservation. They are also used in medicine, perfumery and cosmetics.

India is the largest producer of spices accounting for 70% of the global spice production, followed by Bangladesh, Turkey, China. As spice suppliers, we source and supply the best quality spices from our trusted suppliers around the world.
